I Just Watched Seventeen Kids For 3 Hours

1 min readMay 24, 2016

I just watched seventeen (17) K-1 kids for about three hours in aftercare at our school.

Few observations:

1 — are there at least a few teachers canonized every year? no? there should be.

2 — friendships and family bonds are not as important as pokemon cards.

3 — kids love helping if you call it something important. seven kids volunteered to be my ‘first assistant’.

4 — seventeen kids means there’s always one in the potty … always

5 — ”…where’s the best place in the world you’d love to visit?” best answer — -> buffalo

6 — cross-pollinating play-doh hurts my OCD

7 — … I haven’t been sick in years … and now I feel like I’m coming down with something

8 — three second rule is alive and well

9 — if you listen closely, you can hear grey hairs when they come in

10 — I’d do it again tomorrow ;-)
